Month of Fear - Banshee Posted on 02 Oct 2014
Month of Fear is on! Artist Kristina Carroll has once again rounded up a herd of illustrators for a series of weekly art challenges all October long.
My piece for this week's challenge ("Things That Go Bump") is a banshee; it's a 16 x 21.5" pencil drawing with some perfunctory digital tinting added. I'm thinking of revisiting this one as an oil painting (or at very least a more finished-out digital version), but at the moment my drawing board is thoroughly buried in commissioned work and so it will have to wait.

I am very impressed with the beautiful detail and dedication you put on every piece, I have been following your work, and I have a question from one of our last posts, may I ask you what type or brand of toned paper do you print to, when you decide to save the pencils, and do the finished illustration on a different surface.
Thank you in advance, and I am looking forward to see this week's illustration.

I print the pencil art onto Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper; the color I've been using is Oyster (which is a light tan shade) - you can see the results on my Tam Lin and Colder Wind paintings, both of which were painted on paper of this brand & color.
